Although duvets are each commonly used in European countries. in the United States there still seems to become some confusion as to the difference between a comforter and a duvet and a duvet comforter cover. Many retailers. when promoting a duvet. will indicate that a duvet is to be used to cover a comforter. In essence this is not true. A duvet cover is used to cover a duvet. but some people will use a comforter in place of the duvet. hence the phrase duvet comforter cover.
Construction of a duvet. The external material used in most duvets is cotton as it is both economical and comfortable. However. you do have options of silk or cotton-silk blend duvets too. The thread count for duvets is almost always high as the filling may tend to seep out otherwise. It is also a good idea to invest in a duvet cover as it makes maintenance much easier. A duvet cover protects against spills and general wear and tear. If you are looking to go in for a change of colours and hues around the room. it`s much more cost effective to replace a duvet cover than a duvet itself.
Although duvet inserts and covers have been around for a long time. their popularity in the US has lagged behind their popularity in other countries until relatively recently. Their popularity in America is now growing as people realize their many advantages over other types of bedding. If you have not yet experienced these advantages for yourself. you are encouraged to try one soon.
